Position – Sweeper Truck / Parking Lot Maintenance

Location - Grants Pass, Oregon

Southern Oregon Sanitation (SOS) is seeking Parking Lot Maintenance Driver.   The driver will operate a Broom Sweeper Truck and/or Backpack Blower. Providing prompt service to customers on scheduled routes. Will work closely with your supervisor to ensure that parking lots both here in Josephine County and Jackson County are kept clean.

Schedule: Monday- Friday (Ability to work weekends if needed.)

Starting 3:00am - Ending when the route is complete

Starting Pay: $25.31-$29.78/per hour.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Operates sweeping vehicle that cleans parking lots free of trash, leaves and other debris.
- Ensure supplies and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating sweeper.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle.
- Ensure vehicle is operating correctly while on the route and notifies Sweeping Supervisor of any concerns.
- Understands and practices operating best practices.
- Immediately reports any unsafe situations/service calls to Shift Lead before attempting service.
- Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and safety meetings as required by the Company.
- Performs all duties as scheduled by Sweeping Supervisor Lead, assisting other company drivers as directed.
- Notifies Sweeping Supervisor of any incidents/accidents/injures/property damage.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

​ REQUIREMENTS :

- Valid Driver’s License with Clean Driving Record (MVR) - Required
- ( CDL Preferred but not required. )
- Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

- Punctual, dependable, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work a physically demanding job
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments in English

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

- The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.

- Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times every day while on route.

- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
