Job Summary
The Freight Clerk at Hugos Family Marketplace is responsible for unloading delivery trucks, organizing, and staging inventory department aisles, and stocking merchandise on store shelves. This role ensures products are properly stored, displayed, and available for customers while maintaining a clean and organized stock area.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload merchandise from delivery trucks safely and efficiently.
- Inspect shipments for accuracy, damage, or missing items.
- Sort and organize products in the stockroom or staging area.
- Stock shelves, racks, and displays according to company standards.
- Rotate inventory and ensure older products are stocked first when required.
- Maintain clean and organized shelves and storage areas.
- Remove empty boxes, packaging, and debris from the sales floor and stockroom.
- Follow safety procedures while handling merchandise and equipment.
- Assist customers with locating products when needed as well as assisting the courtesy team with carry outs when needed.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during overnight or early morning hours.
- Basic teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, bending, reaching, and standing.
- Ability to unload trucks and move heavy merchandise.
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- May involve early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.
- Use of pallet jacks, carts, or other stock equipment
