About this role
Description
Amazon's Global Logistics team is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager to own long-term capacity planning for the Global Cross-Dock (GXD) network. GXDs are origin facilities where freight from Selling Partners and Amazon's own procurement programs is received, consolidated, allocated, and shipped to 14+ destination marketplaces worldwide. In this role, you will be the single-threaded owner of capacity strategy across the end-to-end imports supply chain — from GXD origin nodes through ocean, dray, and destination processing — ensuring the right capacity is in the right place at the right time to support business growth.
You will lead Amazon's long-range planning cycles (OP1/OP2/QxG) for GXD capacity, develop volume forecasts, partner with business teams on new marketplace and program launches, and govern capacity decisions through structured monthly and quarterly review mechanisms. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of strategic planning and cross-functional execution, with direct impact on Amazon's ability to scale global imports efficiently.
Key job responsibilities
- Own long-term capacity planning for the GXD network — including origin throughput, warehouse storage, and outbound container capacity — across Retail (DI/GPE) and FBA programs.
- Lead GXD inputs into OP1, OP2, and Quarterly Guidance (QxG) planning cycles by developing volume forecasts, capacity models, and scenario analyses that inform headcount, CapEx, and network design decisions.
- Build and maintain demand-to-capacity models that translate SCOT/S&OP topline forecasts into node-level capacity requirements across multiple constraint types.
- Partner with business teams (Direct Import, GPE, FBA Global Shipping) on new launch roadmaps, ensuring GXD readiness for marketplace expansions and program growth.
- Establish and lead capacity governance mechanisms — Monthly and Quarterly Capacity Reviews — providing end-to-end visibility from GXD origin through ocean, dray, and destination processing.
- Proactively identify capacity risks, develop mitigation strategies, and present data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Ocean Procurement, Dray, Destination Ops, Finance, and SCOT to align capacity plans across the full imports supply chain.
- Drive continuous improvement by improving forecast accuracy, automating workflows, defining key capacity metrics, and building scalable reporting mechanisms.
