About this role

👋 Who are we?

Nordhealth (OB:NORDH) is the leading provider of cloud-based Practice Information Management Software (PIMS) to veterinary and therapy professionals.

Over the last three years, we have grown our Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and team size by almost 10x. Today, more than 30,000 therapy and veterinary professionals use our software everyday to help treat over 20 million patients annually across 55+ countries. It’s been an exciting growth journey so far and we are just getting started. Our mission is to enable healthcare professionals to deliver better patient care through software, with a goal to help serve over 200 million patients by 2030 . In support of this growth mission, in May 2021, Nordhealth raised €120M through a public-listing on Euronext Growth Oslo stock exchange.

Nordhealth is a remote-first company, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. Our 430+ employees work either remotely or from offices/collaboration hubs. While our market presence is currently strongest in the Nordics, our customer base is rapidly growing in North America and Europe, with clients in the US, UK, Spain, Latin America, Australia, and many others. Nordhealth Therapy is consolidating three market-leading regional PMS brands — Diarium in Finland, Physica and Psykbase in Norway, Terapeut Booking in Denmark — onto one unified practice-management platform for physiotherapists, psychologists, and rehab clinics.

About the role

As a Site Reliability Engineer in the Platform Engineering team, you'll help keep that platform reliable, secure and easy to ship to, across cloud and hybrid environments. You'll work closely with software engineering and product teams. On this team, experienced engineers own their domains.

This is a hands-on role covering infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, observability, incident response and security. You'll take part in the team's 24/7 on-call rotation ! 🚀

Your key responsibilities include:

- Build and operate infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments: networking, infrastructure as code, containers and cost.
- Improve deployment pipelines and automation, including feature flags and progressive delivery: faster builds, safer deploys, quick rollbacks.
- Apply the team's monitoring standards across logs, metrics and traces, so problems are found before customers report them.
- Define SLOs for key user journeys and set up alerting that pages for urgent risks, such as a disk filling up or a certificate about to expire, and stays quiet otherwise.
- Take part in 24/7 on-call and incident response, and improve both: runbooks, blameless postmortems, and follow-up actions.
- Keep the platform secure: vulnerability management, patching, and framework and dependency upgrades. Manage secrets and access with least privilege.
- Build compliance into the platform: audit logging, data residency and access controls.
- Test backups and restores regularly, and keep recovery procedures documented and rehearsed.
- Find repetitive manual work and automate it away.
- Shape developer experience: internal tooling, self-service workflows and paved paths that let engineers ship faster and safely.
- Help move the regional products onto the unified platform without disrupting the clinics that rely on them.

What will help you to be successful in this role?

Ideally, you have already gained some experience from working in a fast growing, global SaaS company. In addition, our humble wishlist includes:

- 4+ years running production systems for a SaaS product, in an SRE, platform or DevOps role.
- Strong Linux and networking fundamentals: DNS, TLS, HTTP and load balancing.
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar) on a major cloud provider.
- Containers and orchestration (Docker plus Kubernetes, ECS or similar).
- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or similar).
- Observability tooling (Prometheus and Grafana, Datadog or similar) and SLO-based alerting.
- Real on-call experience: you've handled incidents, written postmortems and followed through on the fixes.
- You're comfortable coding in Go, Python or Bash, and can find your way around application code.
- Fluent English, written and spoken, and you work well remotely and asynchronously.

Bonus skills and experience (optional)

- Network engineering and DNS administration.
- Hybrid environments: running workloads in a data centre alongside the cloud.
- Feature-flag-based deployments and progressive delivery.
- Operating relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL): replication, backups, restores and upgrades.
- Regulated industries such as healthcare: GDPR, ISO 27001, data residency.
- Cloud cost optimisation (FinOps).
- Migrating or consolidating platforms without downtime.
- Contributions to open-source infrastructure tooling.
