Location: Starbase, TX
Position: Millwright – Gas/Steam Turbines
Superior Skilled Trades is seeking experienced Millwrights for a large-scale industrial power generation project in Starbase, TX. Qualified candidates must have hands-on experience installing, aligning, and maintaining large rotating equipment, including gas turbines, generators, compressors, and industrial machinery.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, position, level, and align gas turbines, generators, and rotating equipment.
- Perform precision laser and dial-indicator alignment, including coupling adjustments and soft-foot corrections.
- Set, grout, and anchor machinery using hydraulic jacks and specialized equipment.
- Perform mechanical assembly, rigging, and heavy equipment installation.
- Assist with turbine commissioning, startup preparation, and equipment preservation.
- Install SCR stacks and associated mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, OEM manuals, and equipment installation drawings.
- Follow OSHA safety procedures and lockout/tagout requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of millwright, rotating equipment, or industrial machinery installation experience.
- Experience with gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, compressors, or similar large rotating machinery preferred.
- Strong experience with precision alignment, rigging, grouting, and equipment installation.
- Familiarity with API RP 686 preferred.
- NCCER Millwright certification or journeyman credentials preferred.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and outdoors as needed.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., work at heights, and wear required PPE.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must meet applicable project eligibility and export-control requirements.
