About this role

- Hybrid working: connect in the office 2 days a week, with 3 days working from home.

Make a meaningful difference when our people need support most.

We’re looking for an experienced Employee Care Consultant to join our team and provide specialist injury management, wellbeing and workplace support to employees navigating illness, injury or other health-related circumstances.

This is a role where expertise and empathy come together. You’ll work closely with employees and leaders to provide practical guidance, develop appropriate workplace adjustments and recovery-at-work plans, and help people remain at work or return safely and sustainably.

You’ll also play an important role in identifying emerging wellbeing and injury trends, helping us strengthen prevention strategies and create a psychologically and physically safe, healthy and inclusive workplace.

What you’ll be doing

As an Employee Care Consultant, you’ll provide early intervention, assessment and case management support to employees navigating health, wellbeing, injury or illness. Working closely with employees, People Leaders, healthcare providers and specialist teams, you’ll provide tailored advice and support that helps our people achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.

- Support employees returning to work following periods of absence, connecting them and their leaders with appropriate care, resources, referrals and workplace adjustments.

- Manage sensitive and complex matters, including mental health concerns and other personal circumstances.

- Conduct ergonomic and workplace hazard assessments, partnering with leaders to implement appropriate controls and reduce the risk of injury or harm.

- Collaborate across People, Claims, Employment Legal, HSW and other specialist teams to deliver coordinated employee care, while maintaining accurate case records in line with legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements.

The moments when an employee is navigating illness, injury or a difficult personal circumstance can be some of the most challenging in their working life.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make those moments a little easier by helping our people feel supported, understood and equipped with a clear path forward. You’ll be part of a collaborative network focused on both individual care and building safer, healthier workplaces for everyone.

About you:

You’ll bring a combination of technical expertise, compassion and the confidence to navigate complex and sensitive situations. You’re an effective communicator and trusted partner who can build strong relationships across employees, leaders, healthcare providers and specialist stakeholders, while balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Importantly, you’ll understand how health and wellbeing matters intersect with the broader workplace environment and be able to recognise and assess psychological and organisational risks alongside the medical aspects of a case.

- A relevant tertiary qualification in allied health, such as rehabilitation, psychology, occupational health or physiotherapy, with relevant professional registration where applicable.

- Strong knowledge and practical experience across injury management, workplace wellbeing, workers compensation and return-to-work planning, including workplace adjustments and recovery-at-work plans.

- Demonstrated experience supporting complex psychological and physical injury or illness matters, including mental health concerns with the ability to recognise workplace risks.

- Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, coupled with an understanding of risk within a large corporate environment.

You’ll bring sound judgement and the confidence to work autonomously, recognising and prioritising sensitive or higher-risk matters and determining the right course of action. You’ll know when to draw on specialist support and will approach confidential information with discretion, care and professionalism.
