Life Guard

Life Guard is responsible for the safety and security of our guests at the poolside.

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for the safety of guests and employees within designated swimming areas (beach and pool) during posted business hours, and must hold an active certification as a lifeguard from any recognized world lifeguard association.
- Proficient in artificial resuscitation (mouth-to-mouth) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Responsible for responding to any emergency within the hotel swimming or pool area.
- Responsible for keeping designated and marked swimming areas free of motorized boats, windsurfers, and sea bikes (pedal boats), and keeping swimmers and snorkelers out of boat tracks or other hazardous areas.
- Responsible for ensuring a rescue boat with an engine is available at all times.
- Responsible for the safety set-up at the beach and pool, including setting up life-saving flotation devices along the shoreline and around the pool, putting up correct safety flag colors during business hours, keeping a rescue surfboard and boat ready on the shoreline, placing the First Aid Kit at the post, and posting business hours, pool depths, water and air temperatures, and wind force/speed.
- Responsible for logging windsurfers, sailing boats, and sea bikes in and out along with crew counts, ensuring activities happen in designated areas, and monitoring or organizing rescues for them while out at sea.
- Responsible for ensuring all water sports and pool activities are executed according to security rules.
- Responsible for arranging temporary relief coverage during bathroom breaks, lunch, and other rest periods.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with company policies to achieve overall objectives.
- Understand and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations in the Employee Handbook and the hotel's policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.
- Ensure all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
- Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

- Minimum 1-2 year work experience in a similar position, preferably in a 5-star International hotel.
- Strong swimming skill and good working knowledge health club and swimming pool operation.
- Commitment to professional values and integrity
- Guest oriented – able to establish rapport quickly and easily
- College education. Lifeguard certification
