About this role
Company Description
At Octopus, we’re investors and entrepreneurs on a mission to back the people, ideas and industries that will change the world. We believe there’s a brighter way to do business, which is why we’re an accredited B Corp, and why we changed our Articles of Association so that employees, customers, communities, the environment and shareholders all count in every decision we make. Our healthcare fund invests in care homes and retirement villages across the UK.
Job Description
The role
You’ll visit our care homes and retirement villages, see for yourself how they’re run, and turn what you find into clear insight that helps keep clinical, operational and quality standards high across the portfolio. If you’re an experienced social care nurse or practitioner looking for a new challenge, this role builds on what you know and helps you develop specialist skills in risk management, quality assurance and portfolio oversight within a health and social care investment fund.
This role can be based from anywhere in the UK as it's a work from home setup. However, you will need to travel to our London office on a monthly basis.
The team
You’ll join the Quality Assurance team, a small, established function supporting an extensive healthcare investment fund. As our investment in care grows, so does the team’s role in overseeing quality, risk and operational standards. You’ll report to the Clinical Assurance Director and work with colleagues across Octopus Capital, who’ll turn to you for healthcare and regulatory expertise.
What you’ll do
Site visits and oversight
- Visit our facilities across the UK and write detailed visit reports
- Give operational insight from each visit, covering regulatory compliance and service quality
- Produce clear written reports for the Quality Assurance team
Regulatory insight
- Track CQC reports, or equivalent regulator inspection outcomes, for operators in the fund
- Review and analyse regulatory reports, and feed back to the relevant teams
Sharing knowledge
- Support our educational days and networking events
- Attend sector conferences to keep up with best practice

We are committed to building a workplace where diversity is valued, and inclusion is a priority. By providing equal opportunities for growth and development, we embrace and celebrate all races, genders, religions, sexual orientations, ages, disabilities, and socio-economic backgrounds. We believe teams achieve their best when every member feels safe, respected and empowered to be their authentic selves.
