About this role

The opportunity: Senior Institutional Sales Director – Nordics

Join HSBC in Sweden and help shape the next phase of our institutional business across the Nordics.

Bring your expertise in Nordic pensions and insurance, your track record of trusted institutional relationships and your ambition to drive sustainable growth. This is an opportunity to shape regional strategy, develop innovative investment solutions and bring teams together to deliver for sophisticated clients.

What you will do:

You’ll drive the growth of HSBC Asset Management’s Nordic institutional business, deepening strategically important client relationships across the region.

You’ll own the Nordic Institutional Sales and Distribution strategy for pension funds, insurers, foundations and endowments—translating strategic ambition into sustainable revenue and asset growth across traditional and alternative investments, backed by differentiated, executive-level client coverage.

Working across HSBC Asset Management, Investments and CIB (Commercial and Institutional Banking), you’ll bring together the firm’s capabilities to solve complex client needs and strengthen our market profile and competitive position across the Nordics.

In this role you will:

- Shape and execute the Nordic Institutional Sales and Distribution strategy, raising HSBC Asset Management’s market profile and strengthening its competitive position.

- Build and deepen senior relationships with priority pension funds, insurers, foundations and endowments, increasing client satisfaction, retention and share of wallet.

- Drive commercial performance across net new assets, revenue, profitability, client acquisition and retention, with disciplined pipeline management and forecasting.

- Originate and convert complex, long-cycle investment opportunities across traditional and alternative asset classes, drawing on capabilities across jurisdictions and the firm.

- Bring together Investments, Product, Liquidity, Alternatives, ETFs, CIB, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Marketing to deliver differentiated solutions for institutional clients.

- Influence and align teams across a global matrix, develop sales and client-servicing colleagues through coaching, and drive commercial delivery within HSBC’s risk appetite and control framework.

You should apply if you have:

- Substantial experience in institutional asset management sales or distribution, backed by deep knowledge of Nordic pension and insurance clients.

- A proven commercial track record across traditional and alternative investments, delivering revenue and asset growth and deepening strategic client relationships.

- The credibility and executive presence to engage boards, chief investment officers, senior investment professionals, consultants and market influencers.

- Strategic vision and sound commercial judgement: the ability to shape and execute a regional strategy, originate complex opportunities and navigate uncertainty and pressure.

- Excellent influencing, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to mobilise multidisciplinary teams across a global matrix organisation.

- A track record of developing colleagues through coaching, building sales capability and upholding high standards of conduct, risk management and client outcomes.

- Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

Even if you feel you do not meet 100% of our qualifications, we encourage you to apply, if you believe this role is right for you.
