- Real Field and Project Engineer work. You'll work on actual Field Engineer and/or Project Engineer deliverables that move the job forward. It's real-life practice for the career you're preparing for.
- Access to leadership. You'll have daily access to project leadership, visit other active Monadnock jobsites, and finish the summer with a 1:1 with a Partner or Project Executive.
What You'll Do
You'll spend most of the summer on your jobsite, doing the work of a Field Engineer and/or Project Engineer.
Before You Start
- You will be required to complete the required 40-hour OSHA SST training prior to the start of your internship. Monadnock covers the course cost and pays for your course time (40 hours). You will have the option to complete at your own pace online or attend in-person classes when available. All coursework must be completed no later than May 28, 2027.
- Prior to transitioning to your assigned jobsite, you will attend training sessions at the home office for Procore & Bluebeam training, Project Management basics, Safety, and Preconstruction.

Depending on your assigned project, prior experience and intended career path, you will gain exposure to and experience in the following responsibilities and more:

- Own submittals and RFIs, the paperwork that keeps a building moving
- Review and maintain contract documents and scopes
- Get exposure to bids and buyouts, from takeoffs to awarding subcontracts

Field Operations
- Walk the site daily with Superintendents, the Safety team and project staff
- Work with all field staff and subcontractors
- Track manpower, equipment and deliveries in daily reports, and document progress with photos
- Join QC inspections and help close out checklists and punch lists, from foundations and structure to exterior wall, mechanicals and finishes
- Help prepare two-week look-aheads and coordinate the work schedule
- Observe and assist with new worker orientations
During Your Internship
- Welcome lunch with Partners during Week 1
- Group jobsite visits to other Monadnock projects, led by the Project Teams, MEP and Safety
- Training sessions at the home office with our in-house experts
- Intern send-off lunch with teams on the jobsite and at the home office with Partners
Feedback, Reviews and the Path to Full Time
- Informal feedback: daily and weekly check-ins with your direct Supervisor and assigned project mentor.
- Bi-weekly check-ins: our HR team will check in with you and separately with your project team
- Final review: a 1:1 performance review with your Supervisor at the end of the internship.
