We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Stores Person at HMP Wymott in Leyland .

Working hours: 39 per week, Monday to Thursday, 07:30–16:30, and Friday, 07:30–15:30.

Join our inclusive Ministry of Justice Facilities Management team, supporting His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service by helping to provide safe, clean and efficient prison facilities. Amey supports secure premises across England and Wales, helping essential prison services run smoothly.

This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of the prison’s day-to-day operations. You will help ensure that stock and essential supplies are received, controlled and delivered safely and efficiently throughout the establishment.

- Deliver stock and essential items to prisoners and staff across the prison in a safe and timely manner.

- Supervise prisoners working within the Stores, maintaining clear professional boundaries and safe working practices.

- Collect items locally when required.

- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a reliable Stores service for the wider prison.

##

What you will bring

Essential:

- A full UK driving licence.

- Confidence and professionalism when working alongside prisoners and throughout a secure prison environment.

- Good IT skills, with the ability to maintain accurate stock records.

- A proactive, organised and dependable approach.

- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with different colleagues and customers.

Desirable:

- Previous experience in a Stores, stock-control, warehouse or similar environment.

- Knowledge of safe manual-handling practices.

We welcome applications from a diverse range of candidates.

If you have most, but not all, of these skills and experiences, we encourage you to apply. We may be able to offer development or training to support your growth.

##
