About this role

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Guide service resiliency, system architecture, and capacity planning for critical applications, balancing current usage and future growth. Partner with application owners to remediate vulnerabilities and address security and infrastructure risks. Maintain resilience across operating environments, container orchestration platforms, cloud services, data platforms, and AI workspaces. Set up and operate workspaces for data scientists and analysts, manage model onboarding and retirement, and ensure required capacity for all use cases. Engage external vendors to resolve production issues. Build and run production pipelines, source vendor data via standardized integration methods, and deploy to on-premises and cloud environments using infrastructure-as-code practices. Coordinate major incidents, conduct post-incident reviews and root-cause analysis, and drive problem management to prevent recurrence in accordance with policy and industry standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Project Manager, Computer Systems Analyst, Systems Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Project Manager, Computer Systems Analyst, Systems Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: Applying ITIL processes and best practices across the full service lifecycle, including Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation, and Continual Service Improvement, to define service governance, operating procedures, controls, and continuous improvement metrics; Designing, implementing, and operating resilient platform integrations and managing production traffic and controls through API Management, including capacity planning, throttling and rate-limiting, failure-mode design, and high-availability operational readiness; Building and operating automated delivery and infrastructure workflows using Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines, provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure with Terraform, and engineering distributed platform components using AWS, Databricks, and Kafka to support reliable deployment, scaling, and rollback strategies; Designing and executing chaos engineering exercises using tools such as Gremlin to validate service-level objectives, identify systemic failure modes, implement resiliency improvements across infrastructure and application layers, and run controlled experiments such as dependency failure simulation, resource exhaustion, or load scenarios; Driving and owning Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes, including guiding Sev-1 bridges, coordinating triage and service restoration, conducting structured root-cause analysis, and implementing durable corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurrence and improve reliability; Designing, implementing, and operating end-to-end observability solutions using Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and CloudWatch, including telemetry instrumentation, log, metric, and trace correlation, alert tuning, dashboarding, and defining actionable runbooks and on-call readiness; Troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application issues in production using hypothesis-driven debugging across services and data-driven decision-making, and implementing systemic fixes that measurably improve resiliency, reliability, and mean time to recovery. This position requires three (3) years of experience with: Driving end-to-end delivery of cross-functional infrastructure, resiliency, and AI/ML platform initiatives, including planning, dependency management, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and driving execution across multiple teams and departments.
