About this role

Who We Are

Konrad is an AI-driven digital consultancy and product-innovation firm providing AI, strategy, design, and technology services to the world’s most ambitious businesses and brands.

We empower industry-leading brands to navigate change, strategize, and build extraordinary custom experiences. In a landscape defined by human and machine collaboration, we bridge the gap between complex AI and beautiful product design. From strategy to implementation, our 750+ global experts deliver intelligent solutions trusted by 500 million people.

About the Role

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in engineering quality into complex digital products across web, mobile, API, and backend systems. You will combine strong software engineering and test automation skills with modern AI-assisted development and testing practices to help teams deliver reliable, secure, and high-quality software.

You will design and maintain automated tests, identify risks early, integrate quality checks into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate closely with developers, product managers, designers, and QA leaders throughout the software development lifecycle.

You will also explore and apply AI-enabled engineering techniques to improve test design, automation development, test-data generation, debugging, and failure analysis. As a senior member of the QA team, you are comfortable driving quality across the entire software development lifecycle, championing best practices, and guiding junior and intermediate team members.

Our engineering teams work in smaller groups based on project size, collaborating closely with project management, design, and technology leadership. We strive to create a work environment that encourages innovation, teamwork, career advancement, and personal fulfillment.

What You'll Do

- Design, develop, maintain, and improve automated test solutions across web, mobile, API, integration, and backend systems.

- Write clean, maintainable, reusable automation code and contribute to framework design, code reviews, and engineering standards.

- Develop risk-based test strategies, test scenarios, and test suites that cover functional behaviour, integration, regression, performance, and accessibility.

- Apply AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate test creation, analyze requirements, generate test-data candidates, investigate failures, and improve automation — validating results before adopting them.

- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and help optimize execution speed, reliability, diagnostics, and feedback to development teams.

- Test APIs, services, and data flows, including negative scenarios, boundary conditions, error handling, and integration failures.

- Identify, reproduce, investigate, document, and track defects, collaborating with developers to establish root causes and prevent recurrence.

- Apply risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and sound engineering judgment to identify gaps that automated checks alone may miss.

- Contribute to testing AI-powered features by validating outputs against defined criteria, assessing expected and unexpected behaviour, and identifying regressions in AI-enabled functionality.

- Where relevant, help build evaluation datasets and repeatable checks for AI response quality, factual consistency, relevance, and robustness.

- Participate in technical discussions, agile ceremonies, estimation, solution reviews, and release-readiness assessments.

- Mentor junior and intermediate QA engineers, share technical knowledge, and continuously improve team testing practices.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of relevant Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering experience, with strong hands-on experience in automation and software testing.

- Strong programming skills in at least one relevant language, such as TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Java, or equivalent.

- Experience developing and maintaining automated tests using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or similar frameworks.

- Solid understanding of API testing, integration testing, frontend and backend validation, and modern software architectures.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, code review practices, and automated test execution in development workflows.

- Practical experience with test planning, risk-based testing, defect investigation, regression testing, and release validation.

- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding or testing tools, with the ability to review generated code and outputs for correctness, maintainability, and security.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify meaningful quality risks.

- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn emerging engineering and AI technologies.

Nice to Have

- Experience testing LLM-powered applications, AI assistants, RAG-based solutions, or AI agents.

- Familiarity with LLM evaluation techniques, test datasets, response-quality metrics, or repeatable AI regression testing.

- Experience with contract testing, service virtualization, test-data engineering, observability, or cloud-based test infrastructure.

- Experience using AI tools to improve automation development, test selection, debugging, or failure triage.
