Operations Training & Development Intern
Apply now for the position of Operations Training & Development Intern and gain hands-on experience supporting training and employee development within manufacturing operations at Siemens Healthineers Magnet Technology.
This is an exciting time to join our Operations team as we continue the ramp-up of our new, purpose-built manufacturing facility in Bicester. Training will play an important role in ensuring our people are ready to work effectively in the new factory, with training activity increasing as more colleagues and operations transition across to the site.
You’ll work with colleagues across Operations, Engineering, Quality and HR, helping to coordinate and deliver training across our manufacturing teams. As well as supporting day-to-day training needs, you’ll contribute to preparations for the new facility and gain first-hand experience of how learning and development supports a major operational transition.
In this role you will:
- Coordinate internal training activities, including scheduling sessions, organising logistics, tracking attendance and maintaining training records and our skills matrix.
- Help develop and update training materials to support manufacturing processes, quality standards and safety requirements.
- Support new starter inductions and respond to day-to-day operational training queries.
- Support training readiness for our new Bicester facility, helping to coordinate the increased training activity required as colleagues and operations transition to the new factory.
- Work with colleagues across different teams to identify training needs and support the coordination of appropriate learning activities.
- Support internal communications, helping ensure training updates and relevant operational information are clearly shared with colleagues.
Alongside your day-to-day role, you’ll take part in our 12-month Intern Development Programme, designed to help you develop key skills including communication, teamwork and commercial awareness.
You will be based mainly at our Bicester site, with the opportunity to spend time at our 2nd facility in Eynsham as part of your role. You’ll be working with teams at both locations and gaining unique insight into how a large-scale business manages the ramp-up of a new manufacturing facility while maintaining day-to-day delivery.
Work Experience
You will be an undergraduate student completing a 12-month industrial placement or sandwich year as part of your degree. We’re open to students from any degree discipline, but you’ll need a genuine interest in working within a manufacturing environment and supporting the learning and development of people working within it.
You’ll also have:
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage different tasks and priorities.
- A willingness to get involved and work with a wide range of people, interacting with colleagues across different teams and at all levels within the factory.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A practical approach to problem-solving, with an interest in understanding how processes work and identifying opportunities to improve them.
- Confidence using common digital tools and systems to organise information, maintain records and support your work.
Previous industry experience isn’t essential . What’s most important is that you’re curious, willing to learn and comfortable working in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
You must also have eligibility to work in the UK for the duration of the internship (Summer 2027–Summer 2028), as we are unable to offer sponsorship for internship roles.
