About this role

Description

Have you ever wondered how Amazon delivers millions of customer orders with exceptional speed and reliability? Behind every fast and on-time delivery is a complex network of software, infrastructure, robotics, and operational processes engineered to work seamlessly at scale.

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) builds the software and infrastructure that power Amazon's world-class fulfillment centers. Our systems integrate with warehouse automation, machines, and human associates to orchestrate critical fulfillment processes across a global network. These technologies enable the movement of millions of inventory units and support billions of transactions, ensuring that customers receive the products they want, when they expect them.

About the Mansort Team

The Mansort team owns the manual sortation layer of Amazon's fulfillment network. Our systems determine where packages should be routed after packing and before reaching the outbound dock, enabling accurate and efficient movement of shipments through fulfillment centers.

We build and operate software responsible for sort plan generation, chute and destination assignment, and scan-and-sort workflows used by warehouse associates. Our systems operate on the fulfillment center floor across hundreds of buildings worldwide, where reliability, performance, and correctness directly influence operational efficiency and customer delivery promises.

Mansort operates in a technically demanding environment characterized by high transaction volumes, stringent low-latency requirements, and the need for continuous availability despite connectivity disruptions or upstream dependency failures. Correctness is equally critical: every sortation decision must accurately direct a package to its intended destination to prevent operational errors and missed transportation cutoffs.

Manual sortation complements Amazon's automated sortation capabilities by providing the flexibility and scalability needed to handle peak demand, support new geographies and fulfillment center formats, and accommodate diverse operational requirements that cannot always be addressed through fixed automation.

As Amazon continues to expand its global fulfillment network and introduce new supply chain capabilities, delivery models, and customer experiences, the Mansort team has an opportunity to solve challenging engineering problems, modernize existing systems, and build scalable, resilient solutions that support the future of fulfillment operations.
