Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable Collections Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for contacting customers regarding outstanding balances, resolving payment issues, maintaining accurate account records, and helping reduce overdue accounts while providing professional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact customers by phone, email, and other communication methods regarding past-due accounts.
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and arrange payment plans when appropriate.
- Review customer accounts, identify discrepancies, and resolve billing or payment issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date collection notes and account records.
- Communicate professionally with customers to secure payments and resolve disputes.
- Meet established collection goals and performance expectations.
- Work closely with other departments to resolve account concerns.
- Follow company policies and applicable laws regarding collection practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous collections, customer service, or accounts receivable experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office or account management systems.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines and performance goals.
- Professional, dependable, and customer-focused attitude.
