Pre-Engineered Metal Building Detailer

We are seeking a Drafter III to join its engineering and detailing team in Arkansas.

This individual will be responsible for designing and detailing pre-engineered metal building projects, developing technical drawings, and preparing accurate material packages that support manufacturing and installation.

The position requires an understanding of the complete metal building detailing process, from initial customer approval drawings through fabrication drawings, erection documentation, and material releases.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and detail pre-engineered metal building projects using MBS, AutoCAD, Tekla, or comparable software.
- Produce and release approval drawings for customer review.
- Develop fabrication drawings used by manufacturing teams to produce structural components.
- Prepare installation/erection drawings for field construction teams.
- Generate accurate bills of materials (BOM), cut lists, shipping lists, and related material documentation.
- Interpret architectural drawings, structural plans, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Prepare drawing revisions and updates based on engineering changes, redlines, and project modifications.
- Coordinate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and external customers to clarify project scope and technical requirements.
- Maintain drawing and material accuracy while managing multiple project deadlines.
- Assist with outsourced detailing projects, including coordinating assignments, checking deliverables, and finalizing documentation.
- Support MBS system accuracy related to design, detailing, pricing, and material outputs.
- Communicate project status, drawing requirements, and technical issues to internal stakeholders.

Must-Haves

- Relevant experience in pre-engineered metal buildings, metal building systems, or structural steel detailing/fabrication .
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience producing detailed construction or fabrication drawings.
- Understanding of bills of materials, cut lists, or other fabrication documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Education: Two-year degree in a related field with AutoCAD certification, or equivalent professional experience.

Strongly Preferred

- Direct PEMB detailing experience.
- Experience with MBS (Metal Building Software) .
- Background with a pre-engineered metal building manufacturer.
- Experience producing approval, fabrication, and installation drawings.
- Experience generating complete material lists for metal building packages.
- Familiarity with steel fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Experience coordinating outsourced detailing projects.
