- Strong editorial judgment and a thorough understanding of journalistic ethics and libel laws.
- Genuine curiosity about the people, issues, and events shaping Las Vegas, Nevada, and the world.
- A deep understanding of content strategy and how strong storytelling can serve audiences across platforms.
- A coaching mindset and a passion for helping journalists develop their craft and reach their potential.
- The ability to collaborate, communicate a creative vision, and establish trust across a newsroom.
- Sound judgment and composure in a fast-moving news environment where priorities and deadlines can change quickly.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, early mornings, and holidays.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite and drive as required to fulfill job responsibilities.
OUR TEAM:
At KTNV, you’ll join a newsroom united by curiosity, creativity, and a commitment to serving the community through meaningful journalism. Our team brings different backgrounds, experiences, interests, and perspectives to the stories we tell. We value collaboration, thoughtful feedback, strong editorial standards, and the willingness to keep improving our craft. As Executive Reporter, you’ll play an important role in creating an environment where journalists learn from one another, take creative approaches to storytelling, and do work that matters to the people of Las Vegas.
WHERE YOU'LL LIVE, WORK, AND PLAY:
Las Vegas offers much more than its world-famous entertainment corridor. The region combines big-city energy with distinctive neighborhoods, a thriving food and entertainment scene, and countless opportunities to discover the people and stories that make Southern Nevada unique. For a curious journalist, it’s a dynamic community with no shortage of stories to tell.
Outside of work, Las Vegas puts the outdoors within easy reach, from desert landscapes and hiking to nearby recreation and scenic escapes. It’s a place where entertainment, culture, community, and the natural beauty of the Southwest come together, giving you plenty to explore when you’re off the clock.
