What you will have an opportunity to do:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to serve as the resort's senior financial leader and a strategic partner to property leadership. This position will oversee the resort's accounting and financial operations while providing the analysis, controls and business insight needed to strengthen profitability and support sound operational decision-making.
The ideal candidate brings strong full-service hotel or resort finance experience, a deep understanding of hotel accounting, and the ability to partner effectively with operational leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and financial operations for the resort, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management and fixed assets.
- Direct the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and long-range financial plans.
- Analyze financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, labor management and operating cost controls.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable ownership requirements.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and maintain strong financial controls to safeguard resort assets.
- Partner with resort leadership and department heads to provide meaningful financial analysis and guidance for business decisions.
- Support revenue optimization efforts in partnership with Revenue Management and Sales.
- Monitor financial trends, departmental performance, labor and expenses and communicate actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Oversee regulatory financial requirements, operational taxes, contracts and related financial compliance.
- Maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership and development to the resort's accounting team.
- Serve as a trusted financial partner to resort leadership and ownership.
What are we looking for?
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline preferred.
- Previous senior-level hotel finance experience, ideally as a Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance or Controller within a full-service hotel or resort environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, balance-sheet reconciliation and internal controls.
- Experience managing hotel P&Ls and partnering with operational department leaders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial results into clear business recommendations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing accounting professionals.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively partner with property leadership, corporate teams and ownership.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with hospitality accounting, PMS, POS and financial reporting platforms preferred.
