Job Description

Position: Forklift Operator – Shipping

- Manifest and load trailers to support shipping operations.
- Operate forklifts, stand-up lifts, and other powered material handling equipment.
- Support Shipping, Receiving, and other warehouse departments as needed.
- Use the Enterprise Inventory Management (EIM) system to scan packaging materials and ingredients entering or leaving the warehouse.
- Read and verify bills of lading and shipping documentation.
- Ensure accurate shipment quantities through inventory verification and basic calculations.
- Follow loading procedures and maintain shipping accuracy and efficiency.
- Work in a fast-paced environment that requires repetitive motion and constant movement.
- Perform lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, and equipment operation throughout the shift.
- Work in refrigerated conditions with temperatures ranging from 28°F to 42°F .

Requirements

- Must have 6 months of continuous employment with a single employer within the last 36 months of employment
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Tyson forklift certification .
- Successfully complete forklift training and licensing requirements.
- Ability and willingness to work in a cold, damp, and wet environment.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly; some material handling and receiving duties may require lifting 70+ lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of 8–9-hour shifts .
- Ability to bend, twist, turn, push, and pull as required.
- Basic math skills to verify shipment quantities and complete shipping-related calculations.
- Ability to read bills of lading, follow loading procedures, and communicate effectively via email.
- Willingness to learn additional duties and accept direction from supervisors.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and schedules that may include Monday through Saturday .

Rehire Criteria

- All applicants must provide their government identification number to verify any previous Tyson employment history.

- Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
- Also, if you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
