Job Summary

- Lead the Lawn Sprinkler Center as the in-store authority on irrigation design, product, and service while overseeing people leadership, merchandising, scheduling, customer follow-up, and monitoring Rental/Repair service for sprinkler-related equipment.

- Drive seasonal revenue through expert system design, team coaching, and seamless coordination with the Rental/Repair Center.

- Full-time salaried or hourly leadership role with vendor design software, POS admin, planogram authority.

- Supervise floor activities in and around the Rental Counter and Shop when needed.

- Praise worthy customer service is our goal in every customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities

- People Leadership & Development

Hire, train, and schedule seasonal associates on brand knowledge (Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro), design basics, POS contracts, and safety.

- Conduct daily staff huddles: review new arrivals, upsell goals (smart timers + sensors), and Rental/Repair handoffs.

- Monitor effective schedules for praiseworthy customer service in sprinkler center, rental counter, and shop/repair.

- Sprinkler Design & Customer Solutions

Create custom irrigation designs using Hunter Hydrawise, Rain Bird IQ, or graph paper; calculate GPM, PSI, head spacing, and valve zoning.

- Quote job-lot bundles for contractors; offer will-call staging, pro pricing, and delivery coordination.

- Host Saturday Sprinkler School clinics; demo Wi-Fi controllers, flow sensors, and pressure regulation.

- Merchandising & Visual Standards

Uncompromised commitment to clean, stocked shelves.

- Build and refresh planogrammed aisles, endcaps, sidestacks and demo stations..

- Cross-merchandise PVC/PEX with funny pipe, swing joints, valve boxes, and Toro clamps.

- Install brand POP, QR tutorials, and coverage charts; photograph setups for social and corporate.

- Ensure floor area of rental area is fully stocked with needed items for a seamless customer experience.

- Scheduling & Operational Flow

Help write weekly staff schedules to cover peak contractor mornings, weekend clinics, and Rental/Repair overlap.

- Coordinate trencher rentals, pipe puller check-outs, and repair drop-offs with Rental/Repair Supervisor.

- Adjust on-the-fly for call-outs; maintain 1:1 design-to-sales ratio during rush.

- Ensure repair parts are available by monitoring and completing parts orders.

- Monitor rental experiences including rental tools, rental trucks, etc

- Customer Follow-Up & Service Monitoring

Follow up within 24 hours on all quotes, special orders, and Rental/Repair sprinkler jobs (e.g., Hows the new Orbit B-hyve working?).

- Monitor Rental/Repair service: audit trencher blade wear, timer battery swaps, nozzle cleaning; ensure 24-hour turnaround.

- Resolve escalations: system not watering zone 3, leaking manifold, app wont connect.

- Inventory & Compliance

Maintain 98% inventory accuracy via daily cycle counts on high-theft fittings and Mango report actions.

- Place weekly vendor-direct orders; reconcile shorts and update min/max.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Education

High school diploma or GED; Irrigation Association (IA) certification or CID strongly preferred.

- Experience

2+ years irrigation retail/design plus 1+ years leading a small team; Rental/Repair coordination required.

- Skills & Abilities

Leadership: grows seasonal staff into design-capable closers by June.

- Design experience a huge plus.

- Merchandising eye: turns endcap into $2K Saturday sales.

- Scheduling software fluency; juggles clinics + rentals + repairs.

- Service monitoring: spots Rental/Repair delay before customer calls.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

- Physical Requirements

Lift/carry 50 lbs repeatedly (50-ft PEX coils, valve boxes).

- Stand/walk full shift indoors/outdoors; bend, kneel, demo risers in garden center.

- Early spring/summer flexible availability
