About this role

The Megapack Business Operations team is hiring a process-driven problem solver at the intersection of sales operations and technology. You will own the path from operational friction to a working improvement: diagnose bottlenecks in how we quote, contract, fulfill, bill, and recognize revenue; turn those findings into process redesign, system changes, and purpose-built SI tools; and drive adoption so the improvements stick.

Sales Operations connects Sales, Deployment, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Logistics, and other partners. You will learn those workflows and the contractual, policy, and system constraints around them, then run a portfolio of enablement work. This is not a reporting role and not a pure software engineering role. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, meticulous with contractual and financial detail, and able to influence partners who do not report to you.

- Diagnose current sales operations workflows from deal close through obligation management—contract review, fulfillment, billing, change control, and revenue recognition. Identify friction, recurring errors, system bottlenecks, and the operational impact of policy or product changes
- Redesign processes and SOPs, and join the design of business process, policy, and contract templates for new product launches so Sales and Business Operations can quote, contract, document, fulfill, bill, and recognize revenue without one-off workarounds
- Collect, prioritize, and specify system improvement requests for IT. Produce detailed mockups, change requests, and acceptance criteria, and influence timeline, scope, and the final deliverable, and coordinate cross-functional review and sign-off on prioritization and new process or system designs with Sales, Finance, Accounting, Legal, IT, and global partners. Resolve blockers and keep initiatives moving
- Build and maintain the business operations knowledge center—playbooks, decision logic, contract and policy references, and how-to guides—so institutional knowledge does not live in individual inboxes
- Design, build, test, and maintain SI tools on Tesla’s SI platform that sit alongside core systems and cut manual effort and error in contract verification, contract term tracking, billing validation, cash collections, and standard document drafting
- Drive adoption through training, user documentation, and structured feedback, and feed that feedback into the next round of process, system, and SI improvements
- Tackle first-time commercial or operational issues driven by new products and evolving business needs. Navigate ambiguity, fill gaps, and establish repeatable processes

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivelant experience. Experience in business operations, finance, commercial contracting, global trade, or international logistics is preferred
- 3+ years in business operations, management consulting, operational excellence, or a related cross-functional commercial role where you owned process and system outcomes, not just analysis
- Ability to absorb complex workflows quickly—systems, contractual language, policy, and day-to-day practice—and see several steps ahead on how a change will land in operations
- Foundational understanding of how business systems fit together—what belongs in the system of record versus what can be assisted alongside it—and experience configuring CRM, ERP, or similar tools to fit a team’s workflow
- Meticulous attention to detail with contractual, financial, and operational data, and judgment to separate real risk from noise
- Hands-on experience building SI tools, not only using them. You can use an SI/RAG platform to ship a working assistant: define the use case, ingest and structure source documents, write and tune prompts, build evaluation examples from real transactions, and improve confidence scores
- Familiarity with agent or skills repositories and configuring workflow tools for non-technical users is expected. Ability to test SI with realistic and negative test scenarios to ensure minimal hallucinations. Python or light scripting is a plus; production software engineering is not the bar
- Clear communications. Resilience and agility under competing priorities, including the judgment to drop or reorder work when the business need changes
