Role: Enrichment Teacher
Location: Upper West Side- 68th St.
Salary Range: $20/hour
Schedule: 10am-6pm Mon-Fri
About us:
New York Preschool is more than just a neighborhood preschool. It’s a year-round early childhood education program built for NYC families with children ages one to five. Every school shares one philosophy across three core programs: NY Preschool, Afternoon Club, and Camp Kids Club.
We put the child first, give working parents the flexibility they need, and treats New York City as an extension of the classroom. This is how we prepare city kids and families to thrive at the next level.
With 12 campuses across Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, and over 20 years of serving the NYC community, families get the depth and support of an established network, delivered with the warmth of a neighborhood school tuned to the block it serves.
About the Role
We are seeking a high-energy Enrichment Teacher to provide New York City’s 2 to 6-year-olds with a foundation for lifelong learning through our incredible enrichment classes. In this "jack of all trades" role, you are part athlete, part scientist, and part performer- transitioning seamlessly from spotting a budding gymnast on the bars, to leading a "mad science" experiment, or coaching a parent and toddler through their very first steps. As a natural storyteller with a flair for the dramatic and a heart for early childhood development, you will turn every lesson into a core memory, ensuring our youngest learners feel confident, inspired, and excited to explore the world around them. You will also be a coach for the preschool gym program.
What You’ll Do
- The Enrichment Chameleon: Lead and co-lead a dynamic range of classes for children ages 1 to 6. You seamlessly pivot between our diverse classes and age groups to keep every lesson fresh and every class special.
- The Developmental Architect: Use structured and unstructured play, art, music, gymnastics, and STEM to build a child’s confidence and coordination. You’ll curate a "safe to fail" environment where a shaky first step or a messy art project is celebrated as a vital leap in their lifelong learning journey.
- The Proactive Problem Solver: Master the art of the transition and the "behind-the-scenes" flow. Whether it’s resetting a gym circuit, organizing a classroom, or jumping in to assist a teammate, you tackle daily operations with a "ready-for-anything" attitude.
- The Family Partner: Build trust with parents and caregivers through daily updates, sharing the successes and challenges of their child’s day, and building a bridge between school and home.
The statements in this job description are intended to describe the essential nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be all responsibilities or qualifications of the job.
Requirements

- Experience: 1-2+ years of formal teaching experience in early childhood (ages 2-6). Camp, pre-k, after-school, and other enrichment experiences are preferred. Experience teaching gym, music, dance, gymnastics, or yoga is a plus!
- Special Edge: Be a passionate teacher and lifelong learner!
Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
