About this role

Finance Co-Op Intern

Battery Ventures | Boston, MA (4 days in-office)

Battery Ventures is a 43-year-old, top-tier, technology-focused investment firm. We back founders and talented teams at all stages of growth, from startups to established market leaders — currently investing from Battery Ventures XV, capitalized at $3.25 billion. Battery is an analytical firm with data ingrained in our DNA, and we're looking for a Finance co-op intern to join our finance team.

Battery is seeking a Finance Intern through Northeastern University’s co-op program to support the firm’s finance and accounting team. The role offers hands-on exposure to the full fund accounting cycle – including audit support, financial reporting, treasury and regulatory reporting – and the opportunity to contribute to a general ledger system transition. The intern will report to the Accounting Managers and work closely with the broader finance team. Pay is $30/hour and specific responsibilities may include, though are not limited to:

- Supporting the annual audit and quarterly financial reporting, including preparing audit support and maintaining investment schedules;

- Reconciling portfolio company records against the firm’s investment records;

- Preparing journal entries for investments, expenses and other fund activity;

- Assisting with treasury activities, including daily cash reporting, cash reconciliations and tracking capital calls;

- Supporting the transition to a new general ledger system;

- Assisting with regulatory filings and limited partner requests; and

- Supporting ad hoc finance and operations projects, including materials for the firm’s annual meeting.

Students best suited for this co-op are Northeastern undergraduates (D’Amore-McKim School of Business preferred) studying Accounting, Finance or a related combined major, who are eligible for the [Spring / Fall 2027] co-op cycle and have completed coursework in financial and managerial accounting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized and comfortable managing multiple deadlines, with strong Excel skills and sound judgment when handling confidential information. Prior co-op or accounting experience and an interest in venture capital are a plus but not required.

This position is Boston-based, full time and in-office four days per week.
