Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel-Hertford County is seeking a Quality Supervisor that will be responsible for:
- The implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of all quality and customer related certifications including, but not limited to, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ABS, and Military.
- Serve as a resource to facilitate collaboration throughout the melt shop and rolling mills to ensure the best interest of Nucor is being met.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales and Operations to address customer specific requirements and product needs.
- Work to drive quality improvement throughout the facility as well as coordinate and conduct audits and applicable training.
- Lead process groups and work with all levels of the organization.
- Participate in the long-term strategic planning for the department by collaborating with other departments to set quality goals that directly support the overall vision and strategy of the division.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment. Safety, quality, and integrity are integral to the Quality supervisor position.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-year Degree or Equivalent Experience
- Previous experience with Quality System(s)
- Previous experience in a steel or manufacturing related industry
- Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001/ASTM Standards
