CDL Class A Driver Job Responsibilities

As a CDL Class A Driver, you will safely transport automotive parts between our Portland distribution center and regional hub locations including Pasco, WA, Medford, OR, and Pacific, WA . Routes generally run 8-10 hours per day , allowing you to return home after every shift.

Responsibilities include:

- Safely operate tractor-trailers in compliance with all FMCSA and DOT regulations

- Transport automotive parts efficiently and on schedule

- Load and unload freight as needed

- Utilize GPS and route management systems to optimize deliveries

- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

- Maintain accurate logs and transportation records

- Communicate professionally with dispatchers and customers

- Report maintenance concerns, safety issues, or delivery exceptions promptly

- Ensure cargo is secured and transported safely at all times

Qualifications

CDL Class A Driver Qualifications

- Valid CDL Class A license

- Clean driving record

- Previous commercial driving experience

- Experience operating manual transmission vehicles

- Ability to safely load, unload, and transport freight

- Working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations

- Strong customer service and communication skills

- Ability to drive safely in adverse weather and winter conditions

- Ability to drive overnight or evening routes as assigned

- Ability to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds

- Ability to bend, reach, twist, and handle automotive parts safely

Corporate requirements: Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record, able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
