As Netflix continues our global expansion, we look for the best and brightest talent to play a key role in our growth. That's where you come in!

We are seeking a Senior Tax Analyst with strong technical tax knowledge and hands-on experience in tax compliance and tax accounting to support our LATAM operations (excluding Brazil), based out of our Mexico City office. This role is the backbone of our regional tax compliance and reporting cycle. It owns the accuracy and timeliness of filings, the income tax provision and the related reporting to our global tax team.

You will combine hands-on execution of direct and indirect tax compliance with the preparation of the Income Tax Provision under US GAAP, including reporting through GAM (Global Access Module). You will work closely with Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, the Global Tax Reporting team, external advisors and tax authorities.

You will report to the Sr. Tax Manager, LATAM in Mexico City. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, comfortable with large data sets and tight deadlines, and always looking for ways to make the process more efficient.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will be executing and owning the recurring tax compliance and tax reporting processes for the LATAM region. Your day-to-day activities will include:

- Prepare and review monthly, annual and informative direct and indirect tax filings: provisional income tax payments, VAT returns, withholding taxes, DIOT/informative returns, electronic accounting, ISSIF and other annual ancillary obligations and annual tax returns..
- Coordinate deadlines and deliverables with third-party service providers, being responsible for filing and paying the tax returns on time, while also being resourceful on providing service providers the information needed to file.
- Prepare the quarterly and annual Income Tax Provision under US GAAP (ASC 740): current and deferred tax calculations, effective tax rate analysis, tax account rollforwards and return-to-provision true-ups.
- Prepare, load and review provision packages in GAM (Global Access Module). Make sure data is complete, consistent and delivered on time to the Global Tax Reporting team.
- Own tax month-end and quarter-end close activities: tax journal entries in Workday, balance sheet account reconciliations in Blackline, and flux analysis of tax accounts.
- Reconcile tax and accounting data (book-to-tax differences, CFDI vs. ledger, intercompany balances) and document the support for positions taken.
- Support tax and statutory audits and authority requests by gathering information, preparing reconciliations and working papers, and coordinating with external advisors.
- Support transfer pricing compliance, including intercompany data for local files, related-party informative returns and year-end adjustments.
- Maintain the regional tax compliance calendar and the related SOX controls and process documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities, including GenAI tools, to reduce manual work and strengthen controls.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent; CPA or Master's in Tax is a plus.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in tax compliance and tax accounting, ideally in Big 4 and/or a multinational company. Mexico is required; LATAM exposure is a plus.
- Strong technical knowledge of Mexican direct and indirect taxes (Income Tax, VAT, withholding taxes, CFDI requirements) and familiarity with SAT/other government platforms.
- Proven hands-on experience preparing the Income Tax Provision under US GAAP (ASC 740), including deferred taxes and return-to-provision.
- Experience with GAM (Global Access Module) or similar tax provision/reporting tools (e.g., OneSource Tax Provision, Longview, CorpTax) is highly desirable.
- Highly proficient in spreadsheets and large data sets; experience with Workday, Blackline and Google suite is a plus.
- Strong accounting background; able to read financial statements and trace tax impacts end-to-end.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines across entities at the same time.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical tax matters in plain terms to non-tax partners.
- Hands-on, ownership mentality with a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
