Job Description

WD is seeking an AI & Automation Engineer Intern to join the Information Technology team within the Enterprise AI & Digital Tech organization. In this role, you will support the design, development, and optimization of AI-powered automation and virtual agent solutions that improve how employees interact with enterprise IT systems.

As an intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-centric AI solutions. This role provides hands-on exposure to conversational AI, generative AI, agentic AI, automation platforms, and enterprise integrations in a real-world production environment.

An intern in this group can expect to work on and gain experience in the following areas:

- Develop, configure, and enhance AI-driven chatbot and virtual agent solutions using Microsoft Power Virtual Agents / Power Apps , Python , and related technologies.
- Assist in implementing and optimizing workflows using Moveworks , including Agent Studio , and agentic AI & automation capabilities .
- Leverage Glean Search, Assistant, and Agents to embed intelligent search and assistant experiences into enterprise workflows.
- Support the development of backend automation scripts and services (primarily Python-based) that enable AI-driven use cases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into functional chatbot, agent, and automation solutions.
- Assist with prompt development, conversational flow design, and basic contextual reasoning for LLM-powered solutions.
- Help test, validate, and refine AI agent behavior, integrations, and workflows using logs, analytics, and user feedback.
- Participate in Agile delivery activities such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to technical documentation, including solution designs, configurations, and operational guides.

Qualifications

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field , with a strong interest in AI, automation, or enterprise platforms.
