Summary

The Analyst, IT Infrastructure evaluates network stability, leads Tier 2 support investigations, designs firmware patching schedules, and implements script-driven automation. By analyzing system health alerts and traffic patterns, the Analyst proactively identifies bottlenecks, mitigates vulnerabilities, and ensures robust enterprise connectivity across wired, wireless, and firewall platforms.

Detailed Description

A. Advanced Incident Resolution & Analysis (Tier 2)

- Tier 2 Technical Support: Act as the primary escalation point for complex LAN, WLAN,and firewall connectivity issues transferred from Tier 1.

- Advanced Diagnostics: Perform in-depth signal analysis, packet capture analysis, and Wi-Fi coverage assessments using Wi-Fi Analyzer and Heatmap.

- Root Cause Assistance: Assist Tier 3 Specialists with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on recurring network incidents and document corrective actions.

B. Network Performance & Health Analytics

- Traffic Pattern Analysis: Analyze network traffic utilization, bandwidth distribution, and node error rates in SolarWinds and LibreNMS to detect degradation.

- Health Trend Reporting: Evaluate network health trends and generate monthly operational health reports to recommend capacity adjustments.

C. Maintenance, Patch Management & Firmware Governance

- Structured Patching: Plan, coordinate, and execute regular firmware updates, operating system patches, and vulnerability remediations across switches, routers, and firewalls.

- Patch Validation: Verify hardware refresh readiness and manage patch testing procedures in non-production environments prior to global rollout.

D. IT/OT Security & Network Segmentation

- Segmentation Enforcement: Manage and enforce IT/OT network segmentation rules, VLAN access control lists (ACLs), and firewall policy configurations.

- Security Rule Audit: Audit access points and switch port compliance to prevent unauthorized device access across operational technology zones.

E. Network Automation & Disaster Recovery

- Script Automation: Develop and maintain Python and PowerShell scripts to automate routine configuration updates, parameter audits, and data collection.

DR & Integrity Verification: Execute routine backup verification procedures and test recovery restore scenarios to validate data integrity for disaster recovery

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

A. Technical Skills

- Networking Protocols: Mastery of Cisco IOS, Aruba Enterprise Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, VoIP and firewall concept administration.

- Operating Systems: Strong operational command of Windows Server, Linux, and Embedded OS network parameters.

- Monitoring & Diagnostics: Advanced proficiency in SolarWinds, Aruba Heatmap, LibreNMS, and Netscout diagnostic environments.

- Automation: Proven scripting skills (Python or PowerShell) for network task automation and API parameter adjustments.

- Wireless Infrastructure: Experience deploying, optimizing, and securing Enterprise Wi-Fi solutions utilizing Wi-Fi Analyzer tools.

B. Analytical & Personal Attributes

- Analytical Mastery: Strong analytical problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to technical troubleshooting under pressure.

- Operational Flexibility: High adaptability and time flexibility to support scheduled maintenance windows and emergency support calls.

- Language Command: Good command of written and spoken English for creating technical standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Physical Demands

- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

- Overall experience should be 7+years

- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network support, performance analysis, and administration

Typical Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
