About this role

Who we are

With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.

What we need

Symbotic is seeking for a Program Manager, Cell Engineering to join our Cell Engineering team within our Products and Innovation organization. Your job will be to own the planning, execution, and visibility of complex cell hardware programs, coordinating engineering deliverables, schedules, dependencies, risks, and cross-functional teams from development through release and deployment.

As our deployment portfolio continues to scale, you will bring dedicated program ownership to an increasingly complex set of concurrent hardware initiatives. You will help engineering teams stay focused on technical execution while ensuring critical deliverables, including BOMs, drawings, third-party designs, and release milestones, remain on track.

What we do

The Cell Engineering team develops and releases the hardware that supports Symbotic's automated systems. The team works across mechanical, electrical, systems, integration, supply chain, suppliers, and other engineering organizations to progress new and existing solutions through development and deployment.

The portfolio is growing rapidly, creating increasing complexity around engineering releases, Stage Gate commitments, third-party deliverables, and program visibility. This role provides dedicated program ownership across that work, connecting engineering execution with the schedules and commitments that drive successful customer programs.

What you'll do

- Own program planning and execution across multiple concurrent cell hardware programs, including schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments.
- Coordinate engineering execution across mechanical, electrical, layout, installation, systems, and other cross-functional teams to drive timely progression through Stage Gates and program milestones.
- Manage hardware program deliverables including BOMs, drawings, models, engineering documentation, ECNs, third-party design artifacts, and release dependencies.
- Establish clear program visibility through plans, dashboards, status reporting, risk tracking, and regular reviews with engineering and business leadership.
- Partner with suppliers, purchasing, and third-party engineering partners to track deliverables, identify gaps, resolve dependencies, and escalate issues before they affect program commitments.
- Manage changing scope, priorities, resource constraints, and schedule trade-offs while providing stakeholders with clear options and decision points.
- Support customer, integration, demonstration, validation, and deployment activities when required by program milestones.

What you'll need

- Minimum of 8 years of related experience or equivalent work experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience leading complex technical programs involving large-scale industrial hardware, automation, robotics, manufacturing systems, or similarly complex engineered products.
- Demonstrated experience managing hardware deliverables such as BOMs, drawings, design releases, engineering change processes, supplier deliverables, and related technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of product development, NPD/NPI processes, cross-functional engineering dependencies, risk management, change control, and program planning.
- Experience using project and program management tools such as JIRA and Microsoft Project, with the ability to create effective plans, dashboards, metrics, and leadership reporting.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to work across engineering teams, suppliers, customers, and senior leadership.

Our Environment

- Up to 10-15% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client locations and company HQ.
- Employees may be required to use a personal credit card for business travel expenses, which are reimbursed based on the program guidelines. Eligible employees may receive a corporate credit card based on role and travel requirements, but a personal credit card may be needed during onboarding until the corporate card is issued.
