About this role
Reporting to the Food Store Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:
- Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided at all times.
- Assist in the development of employee schedules, and assign work task for each shift.
- Ensure orders are received properly, piece counts are conducted, and claims are processed
- Ensure proper merchandising and housekeeping standards within the grocery department including adequate display, stock, and rotation of products.
- Assist in the management of inventory including ordering, receiving and record management of all products within the grocery department.
- Assist with training the grocery team while fostering a positive work environment that enables the engagement of all team members in the pursuit of desired results.
- Maintaining a safe environment for all employees, customers, and vendors. Ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety requirements.
- Responsible for the security of property, equipment at the store and maintain a constant alert for the unauthorized removal of merchandise from the store and to report the discrepancies to the Food Store Manager or designate.

Qualifications
- Must possess a minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent education.
- Must possess a minimum of 3 years’ related experience in a food store, with at least one of those years in a functional supervisory role.
- Must be strongly service oriented and motivated, and capable of assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Must have ability and experience in leading, training and supervising others.
- Must be able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends .
