About this role

Description

Are you passionate about protecting critical infrastructure and ensuring the safety of the systems that millions of people rely on every day? We are looking for a Data Center Security Specialist II to serve as the primary physical security contact for an assigned data center site or campus. In this role, you will manage day-to-day security operations, oversee vendor performance, and ensure compliance with established security standards and policies. You will play a hands-on role in maintaining and improving security systems such as access controls, video surveillance, and intrusion detection — all while collaborating with operations teams and partner organizations to deliver a consistently secure environment. If you are a detail-oriented security professional who thrives on solving problems and driving operational improvements, we want to hear from you.

Our team is dedicated to safeguarding the data center infrastructure that our customers depend on around the clock. We work closely with operations, engineering, and partner teams to maintain the highest security standards while continuously looking for ways to improve. We value collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and a commitment to getting the details right. If you are looking for a role where your work has a direct and meaningful impact on the security of critical systems, this is the team for you.

Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for physical security posture, managing security tasks, strategy, and priorities for your assigned data center site or campus.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and walkthroughs to identify vulnerabilities, ensure compliance with security standards and policies, and coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance for security equipment.
- Manage vendor relationships by assessing compliance with established work orders, tracking service deliverables and SLAs, and escalating corrective actions as needed.
- Review and triage operational request tickets in accordance with SLAs, and communicate security policies and procedures to partner teams effectively.
- Respond to security incidents, support post-incident investigations, and contribute to business continuity planning and process improvement initiatives.

A day in the life
Your day begins with a walkthrough of your assigned site, checking that access control systems, cameras, and intrusion detection hardware are functioning properly. You review overnight incident reports and triage incoming operational tickets, prioritizing items that need immediate attention. You meet with contract security vendors to review performance metrics and approve work activities that may affect physical security. You also collaborate with data center operations teams to address emerging issues, document findings, and refine standard operating procedures.
