Field Permitting Specialist

Full-Time | Field-Based | $25 per Hour

About This Role

SpartanX is looking for a dependable, organized Field Permitting Specialist to support residential solar permitting operations across our active markets.

In this role, you'll work directly with local permitting offices, municipalities, and internal teams to ensure critical documentation is submitted, collected, and delivered accurately and on time.

We're looking for someone who can manage their day independently, stay ahead of deadlines, and communicate professionally with everyone from city officials to homeowners.

What You'll Do

Permitting & Field Coordination

- Submit permit applications and supporting documentation to local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
- Pick up approved permits and required project documentation.
- Deliver permits and related paperwork to homeowners or designated project locations.
- Research and confirm permitting requirements with municipalities and new AHJs.
- Follow up with permitting offices regarding outstanding applications, approvals, and documentation.
- Assist with resolving missing paperwork or submission issues.

Operational Support

- Coordinate with Permitting, Scheduling, Installation, and Field Operations teams to keep projects moving.
- Plan and manage daily routes to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of permit submissions, pickups, deliveries, and follow-up activity.
- Communicate scheduling concerns, permit delays, and outstanding requirements to appropriate teams.
- Support additional permit-related field assignments as needed.

Professional Communication

- Represent SpartanX professionally when interacting with municipal offices, inspectors, and homeowners.
- Maintain clear, timely communication with internal departments.
- Ensure documents are handled accurately and delivered to the appropriate recipients.
- Follow established company procedures and maintain organized documentation.

- Comfortable interacting with municipal officials, inspectors, and homeowners.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use mobile applications.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience in permitting, field coordination, construction administration, or similar operations support.
- Familiarity with municipal permitting offices and AHJ processes.
- Residential solar or construction industry experience.
- Experience managing field routes and time-sensitive documentation.

Compensation & Schedule

- $25 per hour , based on experience.
- Mileage reimbursement or vehicle compensation in accordance with company policy.
- Full-time, field-based position.
- Primarily Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturday availability required.
