About this role

CADG Materials is seeking a details-oriented and customer-focused Scale House Attendant / Administrative Clerk. This role will support daily operations at our cement rail yard and distribution terminal on Deen Road in Fort Worth, TX.

This is a hybrid role. Operations: You will be the first point of contact for truck drivers, haulers, and customers coming through the scale house. Administrative: youll handle the administrative work that keeps the terminal running smoothly — ticketing, data entry, invoicing, filing, and inventory management, in addition to other administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

Scale & Yard Operations

- Operate APEX truck scale via Apex Scale Software to accurately weigh inbound and outbound trucks.

- Generate accurate weight tickets and load documentation for every transaction.

- Direct truck and rail traffic flow in and out of the yard safely and efficiently.

- Verify product, customer, and destination information against orders before releasing loads.

- Inspect incoming loads for correct material and load BOL information.

- Coordinate with haulers, drivers, and rail crews on pickup/delivery scheduling.

- Ensure to obtain driver proof of receipts / sign offs when necessary.

Administrative / Clerical Duties use

- Enter load and ticket data accurately into the APEX scale/dispatch system and company database.

- Prepare, review, and process invoices; reconcile tickets against orders.

- Collect payments (cash/credit card) and maintain accurate cash drawer records.

- Maintain filing systems for tickets, bills of lading, compliance, and other records as needed.

- Answer scale house phone calls and respond to customer/vendor inquiries.

- Assist the office/accounting team with basic bookkeeping and reporting as needed.

- Maintain inventory and shipment logs; support month-end reconciliation.

- Bi-Weekly bank runs, depositing checks, and other forms of client payments at local bank.

Compliance & Safety

- Follow all DOT, TCEQ, OSHA, and (where applicable) MSHA rules and use required PPE (personal protective equipment.

- Keep the scale house clean, organized, and well-stocked with supplies.

- Report on equipment issues, safety concerns, or discrepancies to the Terminal/Site Manager promptly.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent

- 1+ year of office, clerical, or administrative experience

- Strong basic math skills (weights, decimals, unit conversions)

- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment

- Reliable attendance; able to work irregular shifts and workdays, nights, and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

- Prior experience in aggregates, cement, ready-mix concrete, or bulk materials operations.

- Familiarity with Command Alkon or Apex dispatch/scale software (or similar systems such as FastWeigh).

- Experience with rail yard or rail-served terminal operations.

- Basic bookkeeping or accounts receivable/invoicing experience.
