About this role
What We're Looking For:
Tidal Basin, a Michael Baker company, is seeking a Project Manager who plans, directs, monitors, and closes complex public-sector consulting and program implementation engagements while managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, staffing, and client relationships. The position works in a consulting and client-service environment supporting federal, state, territorial, tribal, and local government programs. - Develop and maintain project management plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, deliverable calendars, and communication protocols.
- Direct multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors; assign work, clarify accountability, monitor performance, and resolve constraints.
- Manage contract scope, task orders, amendments, change control, invoicing, and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Monitor labor, expenses, revenue, forecasts, margin, backlog, and other project financial indicators; implement corrective actions when needed.
- Maintain risk, issue, action, decision, dependency, and assumption logs.
- Lead client meetings, executive briefings, status reporting, and deliverable reviews.
- Implement QA/QC and ensure work products are accurate, timely, consistent, and ready for client and regulatory review.
- Coordinate mobilization, onboarding, training, resource planning, and demobilization.
- Ensure project records, data, and communications meet security, confidentiality, retention, and audit-readiness requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, follow-on work, and client value while protecting scope and contractual boundaries.
- Support proposals, staffing strategies, presentations, and lessons learned.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned to meet project, client, and organizational needs.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, engineering, planning, emergency management, or related field.
- At least seven years of progressive project or program management experience, including multi-stakeholder delivery.
- Demonstrated experience managing budget, schedule, teams, risks, and client communications.
- Ability to communicate professionally, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and produce accurate, well-organized work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and the ability to learn client and company systems.
Preferred Qualifications
