About this role

Global Banking and Markets - One Delta Product Strats - Associate / Vice President - London

One Delta Product Strats is an interdisciplinary team responsible for the requirements gathering, design and performance evaluation of products across the one delta equities business. The team carries out a large variety of functions, but at our core we:

- Perform market structure research to understand how execution venues function & their participants trade.
- Work with clients to understand their trading objectives - including running trading experiments with them - then optimise existing or design new products to give them the best execution we can.
- Have a deep understanding of the regulatory and legal frameworks within which we operate; ensure our products align with applicable requirements; work with our Executive Office and Legal teams on related positioning.
- Own counterparty relationships with exchanges, liquidity providers, brokers and vendors; work with them to shape their own product offerings and to ensure we are best utilising the functionality and liquidity available to us.
- Develop sales content on these topics, to both educate our client base and sell our products.

The Role

Members of the team have a primary focus area - somewhat determined by your skillsets and experience - but also contribute to whatever is required by the team in the moment.

You should expect a mix of your own long term projects with highly varied, unpredictable, day-to-day work. It is important that you are a dynamic individual that can deliver to the highest standards under pressure.

Independent thinking and intellectual honesty are highly valued; as you develop you will be expected to originate the ideas that drive your own work & that of the team, and contribute to the strategy of the wider one delta business.

We look for people who can contribute full-stack as much as possible: your ideas, your research, your product, your sales.

Currently there are focus area opportunities for data scientists, markets & execution research, and product sales.

Qualifications

A strong track record in at least one of the following areas, with some competency in the rest:

Data science & applied research

- Hands on experience in data cleaning and structuring, of order and L3 market data, for EMEA one delta asset classes.
- Knowledgeable of EMEA venue specific rulebooks and behaviours.
- Proficient statistics, applied to analysis of trading data.
- Preferred languages are KDB+/Q and Python; otherwise strong computer science, another relevant language and willingness to learn.
- Understanding of LLM inference & fine-tuning (nice to have).

EMEA equities market structure

- Thorough understanding of the equity markets: the current state, the history and the direction of travel.
- Venue mechanisms, rulebooks, how participants interact with each other - who trades in what way, over what horizon.
- Current regulations, how they apply to equity execution and principal liquidity products, and the ongoing & pipeline of regulatory consultations and legislation.
- Able to create content on these topics for consumption by clients and regulators.

Product sales

- Able to discuss products and trading ideas face-to-face with clients, in as much detail as is required, with minimal aid from others.
- Work with sales traders to develop content targeting a wide range of client types (from systematic through to high touch), distilling complex concepts in to digestible insights.
- Originate ideas on how to utilise broker-unique datasets to develop new internal & external products.
- Above all you'll need a passion for what you do, to be highly dependable and have the willingness to work as hard as is needed during the hours needed of you.
