Senior Java Developer

At the core of the roleWe are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer to join a long-term project in the Polish banking sector.You will work on large-scale backend solutions, contributing to the development and evolution of distributed systems and microservices. The role combines hands-on Java development with API and microservice design, integrations, performance, scalability, security and code quality.Please note that this is a hybrid role. We expect on average 1 day per week from the office, with the following locations available: Warsaw, Łódź, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Poznań, Kraków, Lublin and Szczecin. The role also requires Polish at B2+/C1 level.Core skills you’ll bringStrong commercial experience with Java, ideally Java 17/21Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA and Spring SecurityExperience with Hibernate / JPAGood knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL or MS SQL ServerExperience designing and developing REST APIsExperience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, JMS or RabbitMQHands-on experience with microservicesExperience with Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShiftExperience with Git, Maven or Gradle and CI/CDExperience with unit and integration testingUnderstanding of application security, scalability and high-availability systemsFluent PolishNice-to-haveExperience in banking, financial services or transactional systemsKnowledge of payment processesExperience with SonarQube, Nexus or ArtifactoryThe impact you'll createDesign, develop and maintain backend services using Java and SpringDesign and evolve REST APIs and microservicesDevelop synchronous and asynchronous integrationsContribute to scalable, highly available and secure solutionsWrite unit and integration tests and maintain high code qualityParticipate in code reviews and technical discussionsAnalyse logs, troubleshoot issues and continuously improve existing solutions What supports your journeyPeople are at the core of Avenga.
