You know that behind every past-due account is a real person and a real situation. You're comfortable having difficult conversations, but you approach people with empathy, professionalism, and a genuine desire to find a solution. You can clearly explain what needs to happen, stay calm when emotions run high, and balance helping the member with protecting the Credit Union.

You're someone who:

- Can explain financial options in a way that is easy to understand

THE DIFFERENCE YOU'LL MAKE

Every role at Utah First connects back to our mission of being significant in the lives of our members, employees, and communities. As a Collector, you'll work with members whose accounts are delinquent, over the limit, or otherwise in need of attention. Your goal is to help members understand their options, find a reasonable path forward, and bring accounts back into good standing whenever possible.

Here's what that looks like day to day:

- Contacting members regarding delinquent accounts, over-the-limit accounts, and returned checks

- Working with members to identify mutually beneficial solutions and bring accounts current or into good standing

- Providing professional telephone service, clearly explaining the Credit Union's position, and answering member questions

- Counseling members about their financial needs and goals as they relate to collection activity

- Educating members about options that may help them protect, rebuild, or reestablish their credit

- Escalating accounts for additional recovery or legal action when other resolution efforts are unsuccessful

- Keeping accurate records of member communication, payment arrangements, and collection activity

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with some Saturdays, at our Corporate Office in Downtown Salt Lake City.

WHAT YOU BRING

- Previous collections experience with a full-service credit union or bank

- Knowledge of financial institution loan services, policies, and procedures

- Strong verbal communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

- Excellent attention to detail and consistent follow-through

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Must be at least 18 years old

Starting at $21 per hour, depending on experience. Here's the rest of the package:
