About this role

Working as part of a collaborative team, you'll be involved in all aspects of payroll administration, from processing monthly payroll changes and resolving queries to supporting reporting, compliance and continuous improvement.

This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll experience who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems and delivering a great service, while continuing to develop their payroll knowledge and expertise.

What you'll be doing:

- Supporting the accurate and timely processing of monthly payrolls, including new starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, bonuses, commission and statutory payments.

- Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring all changes are processed correctly and within deadlines.

- Acting as a point of contact for payroll queries, providing helpful and timely support to colleagues and managers.

- Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies, including queries relating to tax, National Insurance, pensions and deductions.

- Supporting payroll reconciliations, reporting, month-end and year-end activities, including P60s and audits.

- Ensuring payroll processes comply with HMRC requirements, statutory legislation, pension regulations and data protection standards.

- Maintaining accurate employee information within payroll systems.

- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls and ways of working.

- Supporting payroll projects, system enhancements and ongoing process improvements.

You’ll bring:

- Previous experience in payroll administration, with a good understanding of PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments and pensions.

- Experience using payroll software, alongside strong Microsoft Excel skills.

- Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy and analytical skills.

- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

- A proactive approach to problem-solving and resolving queries.

- Great communication and customer service skills, with the confidence to support colleagues at all levels.

- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care.

Experience using Workday or working in a large, multi-site organisation would be an advantage, as would a CIPP qualification or an interest in working towards one.
