Job Description

This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Department :

Accurately scale and measure all ingredients using a variety of scales.  Condense partial pallets of ingredients on a daily basis.  Program liquid bulk and dry bulk system for mixer they are using.  Set up mixing platform with pre-scales.  Read batch tickets for mixing instructions.  Setup and maintain equipment.  Operate assigned equipment.   Maintain a clean work environment throughout shift.  Accurately complete all necessary production documentation where applicable.  Know basic operations of assigned equipment basic trouble solving techniques. Operate the forklift to load and unload materials on to the platform. Perform additional tasks as needed to include, but not limited to cross training on other machines and/or in other areas.

Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Practice good safety habits and have a good safety record.

Practice good manufacturing practices (GMPs).

Have and maintain good attendance.

Practice good housekeeping at all times.

Must be able to work with support groups to make sure lines are ready to start on time and minimized downtime.

Must know product specifications and how to maintain correct specifications and lines speeds.

Must be willing to follow oral and written instructions.

Must be willing to be flexible.

Organization and written skills.

General knowledge of computers.

Must be willing to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be willing to work 8-12 hour shifts - standing.

Must be willing to work in a production environment requiring safety glasses, hair/beard net, hearing protection, and rubber boots with safety toe. All PPE is provided by Tyson Foods.

Must be willing to withstand hot environments

Perform additional tasks as needed to include, but not limited to cross training in other areas.

Position Specific :

- Must have 6 MThs continuous employment in the last 18 months. Preferred candidates will have at least 6 MThs of relevant machine operator, warehouse, agriculture or production experience.
- Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
