About this role

Description

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is on a mission to build the most advanced last-mile delivery network in the world. Our Central Engineering – Robotics & Innovation team is at the forefront of this transformation, developing and deploying automation and robotic systems that power delivery stations across North America and beyond. Our objective is to fully automate our Delivery Stations, achieving zero-touch unit-to-recipient (UTR) operations end-to-end.
We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and customer-obsessed Technical Program Manager to drive the end-to-end lifecycle of robotics and automation programs — from early ideation and concept validation through large-scale field deployment and performance ramp-up. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that combines strategic program leadership with deep technical engagement across robotics, mechatronics, controls, and software disciplines.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and want to make a measurable difference in how Amazon delivers to customers — come help us make history.

Key job responsibilities
Own end-to-end program management for robotics and automation initiatives across the AMZL delivery station network - scope, schedule, cost, risk, and performance.
Lead cross-functional teams spanning hardware engineering, software development, controls, operations, RME, process engineering, and external vendors to deliver integrated robotic solutions at scale.
Drive the full technology lifecycle: ideation to concept design to prototyping to pilot validation to GA deployment to continuous performance improvement.
Define pilot criteria, success metrics, and GO/NO-GO frameworks for new automation technologies entering the AMZL network.
Develop and maintain detailed deployment plans, including critical path scheduling, resource planning, and sequencing, validated through simulation and modeling tools.
Author business cases and strategic narratives for introducing new automation to the delivery station network; present to Director- and VP-level audiences.
Capture voice-of-the-customer directly from field operations (Ops, Maintenance, ACES, Process Engineering, Associates) and translate insights into actionable engineering and roadmap improvements.
Partner with BI and Data Engineering teams to establish KPI frameworks and performance visibility dashboards for deployed robotic systems.
Drive continuous improvement across deployment cycle time, system reliability, and operational throughput, identifying bottlenecks and delivering measurable efficiency gains.
Lead technical design reviews; propose and influence solution architectures for robotic cells, autonomous vehicles, material handling, and sortation systems.
Manage contractor and vendor relationships; ensure delivery commitments are met to quality, timeline, and cost targets.
Lead value engineering initiatives to minimize CAPEX while maintaining performance standards.
Travel 25-50% to delivery stations and partner sites across North America for field validation, deployment support, and stakeholder engagement.

A day in the life
Your day could start with a technical design review for a robotic induction system being piloted at in delivery station, shift to a vendor alignment call on a mechatronics integration timeline, and end with drafting a VP-level narrative on program status for a quarterly business review. You are the connective tissue between the engineers building the future of AMZL and the operators running it today - making sure what we invent actually works at Amazon scale, safely and reliably.
It's always Day 1.
