Description
Halcyon Home is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and engaging caregiver to support a young adult woman with a neurodegenerative condition in living a full, active, and meaningful life.
This unique role combines one-to-one caregiving, life enrichment, travel and apartment management. The ideal candidate will support her daily routines while helping her enjoy interests such as pottery, equine therapy, music, exploring her imagination, and ballet.
Schedule:
Monday–Thursday: 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, compassionate support with daily living and routines.
- Encourage participation in creative activities, community outings, and meaningful experiences.
- Prepare meals and accommodate special dietary needs.
- Help schedule and accompany the client to appointments.
- Manage apartment needs specific to the client, including Amazon orders and shopping.
- Provide medication reminders and support as directed in the care plan.
- Assist with apartment organization and light housekeeping related to the client’s daily needs.
- Collaborate with the family and Halcyon team to maintain consistent care.
- Assist with occasional travel.
Requirements
Ideal Candidate:
- Caring, reliable, patient, and organized.
- Enjoys building a meaningful relationship and actively participating in activities.
- Comfortable supporting someone with visual and cognitive impairments.
- Experienced with meal preparation and special diets.
- Communicates clearly and works collaboratively with family and care team members.
- Backgrounds in caregiving, recreational therapy, education, wellness, nursing, activities, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
