Position Summary :

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer II contributes to the quality of the Entrust Agentic Trust SaaS platform by developing, executing, and maintaining automated tests for assigned features and services. The role combines strong coding and automation skills with disciplined investigation to help ensure software is reliable, robust, secure, and scalable.

Working within established test frameworks and with guidance on complex designs, this role takes ownership of well-defined quality assignments and grows in independence. The Engineer II collaborates with Software Development, Product, Security, and Cloud Operations to validate cloud services and integrations, build understanding of the Identity, Authority, Execution, and Assurance planes, and strengthen automated coverage throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Translate well-defined requirements and acceptance criteria into test cases and automated checks for assigned SaaS features, APIs, and workflows.

- Write and maintain code-based API, integration, UI, and regression tests using established frameworks; develop reusable helpers and participate in automation code reviews.

- Run automated suites locally and in CI/CD pipelines, investigate failures, distinguish product defects from test or environment issues, and improve test reliability.

- Prepare test data and environments using approved practices that protect sensitive information and support repeatable execution.

- Execute established load, concurrency, and endurance test scenarios; collect latency, throughput, error, and resource metrics and escalate robustness or scalability concerns.

- Validate boundary conditions, invalid inputs, permission checks, tenant separation, retries, timeouts, and recovery behavior for assigned capabilities.

- Reproduce and document defects with clear steps, expected and actual results, logs, and supporting evidence; verify fixes and add regression coverage.

- Participate in planning, design discussions, demonstrations, and release verification; communicate progress, coverage gaps, and blockers promptly.

- Contribute to test documentation, monitoring checks, and production-issue follow-up while learning how services behave in distributed cloud environments.

- Seek and apply technical feedback, collaborate on exploratory testing where automation is insufficient, and steadily increase ownership of quality outcomes.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent training and practical experience.

- 2+ years of professional software quality engineering or software development experience, including hands-on automated testing.

- Strong practical coding skills in at least one modern programming language and experience creating and debugging automated tests beyond record-and-playback tooling.

- Working knowledge of API testing, HTTP, data formats, databases, source control, automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD workflows.

- Experience testing software in a SaaS or cloud-hosted environment and understanding of service integrations and multi-tenant testing considerations.

- Foundational understanding of performance, scalability, and robustness testing, with ability to execute defined workloads and interpret basic test metrics.

- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to own defined assignments and escalate risks appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with UI automation, containers, Linux, cloud platforms, or automated environment provisioning.

- Exposure to load-testing tools, service simulators, logs, metrics, traces, and asynchronous or event-driven workflows.

- Exposure to Chaos Monkey or equivalent fault-injection tooling for testing SaaS resilience and recovery under simulated infrastructure failures.

- Familiarity with authentication, authorization, identity, cybersecurity, or security-sensitive enterprise software.

- Interest or project experience in agentic AI, MCP, trusted AI controls, or verifiable evidence.
