EHS Specialist | Industrial Construction Safety

Description

Seeking an EHS professional to provide field-based safety support for industrial construction, environmental remediation, decommissioning, demolition, and facility-restart projects. This role supports project execution teams in the field and operates under established safety-management framework. The position is activated based on project needs and site requirements.

This role supports implementation and enforcement of existing safety programs. The selected candidate is not expected to create or own corporate safety program.

Responsibilities

Monitor contractor compliance
Support OSHA compliance
Participate in JSA reviews
Support toolbox talks
Monitor environmental and hazardous-material activities
Support CM and project delivery teams
Conduct site audits

Candidates coming from residential construction, warehouse safety, or office-based corporate EHS environments are generally not aligned.

Additional Qualifications

1-7 years of industrial or construction safety experience preferred.
Industrial construction or environmental construction experience strongly preferred.
Comfortable working onsite in active contractor environments.
Ability to influence safety culture through field presence and communication.
Ability to support multiple project stakeholders including contractors, CMs, PMs, and project teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
1-7 years construction or industrial safety experience preferred. Early-career candidates may be considered if they possess strong industrial, remediation, HAZWOPER, demolition, or contractor-safety exposure.
Industrial or environmental construction experience.
OSHA 30 strongly preferred.
OSHA 40 / HAZWOPER strongly preferred.
Excavation safety exposure preferred.
Scaffolding awareness preferred.
Understanding of hazardous materials environments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $75.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
