About this role
Job Description and Requirements
We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
###
You Are
You have spent years living in the space between what a tool can do and what a customer actually needs it to do, and you know that gap is where the real work happens. Tape-out deadlines do not wait for perfect solutions, so you have learned to diagnose fast, propose smart workarounds, and escalate with enough context that R&D can actually act on what you send them.
You are the kind of engineer who can look at a timing violation and know whether it is a tool issue, a methodology problem, or something the customer set up wrong three weeks ago. You do not just answer questions, you ask better ones. When a customer says "it's not working," you dig until you understand what they were trying to do, what they expected, and where the disconnect actually is.
Working across time zones does not faze you. Neither does explaining the same concept three different ways until it clicks. You have built credibility with customers because you show up prepared, you follow through, and when you do not know something, you say so and then go find out. At Synopsys, you will work on tools that close timing, power, and signal integrity for some of the most complex chips being built today, and the customers you support will depend on you to help them get to tape-out.
###
What You'll Be Doing
- Support customer tape-outs using PrimeTime, PrimeShield, PrimeClosure, and PrimePower, diagnosing tool issues, methodology gaps, and setup problems under tight deadlines
- Work directly with customers at an engineering level to evaluate new features, run beta tests, and gather feedback that shapes product direction
- Collaborate with R&D and product engineering teams to reproduce customer issues, propose enhancements, and drive adoption of newly released capabilities
- Create and deliver technical training materials and presentations tailored to customer workflows and design challenges
- Review product documentation and build demos that show customers how to solve real problems, not just how features work in isolation
- Translate customer requirements into actionable feature requests and work with global teams to prioritize and implement improvements
- Act as the technical bridge between customers in South Korea and engineering teams across Synopsys, ensuring nothing gets lost in translation
###
The Impact You Will Have
- You will directly influence whether complex SoC designs meet their timing, power, and signal integrity targets and tape out on schedule
- Your technical guidance will help customers adopt new sign-off methodologies and tools faster, reducing their time to closure
- The issues you escalate and the enhancements you propose will shape future releases of PrimeTime, PrimePower, and related tools used across the industry
- You will build long-term technical relationships with leading semiconductor companies in South Korea, becoming their go-to resource for sign-off challenges
- Your training sessions and demos will enable customer engineering teams to work more effectively and independently with Synopsys tools
- You will help bridge the gap between what R&D builds and what customers actually need, making the product better for everyone
- The feedback loops you create between customers and engineering will accelerate feature development and improve product quality
###
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in ASIC or SoC design, with deep exposure to timing analysis, power analysis, or physical design flows
- Strong working knowledge of static timing analysis concepts, including setup/hold checks, clock domain crossing, multi-mode multi-corner analysis
- Experience using at least one of the following tools in a production environment: PrimeTime, PrimePower, PrimeClosure, PrimeShield, or equivalent sign-off tools
- Ability to debug complex technical issues across tool configurations, design data, and customer methodologies
- Fluency in English and Korean for customer-facing communication, technical documentation, and cross-regional collaboration
- Experience with scripting languages like Tcl, Python, or Perl for automation and workflow customization is a strong plus
Who You Are
- You can walk into a customer meeting with incomplete information, ask the right questions, and leave with a clear action plan
- You do not panic when a customer escalates an issue two days before tape-out, you prioritize, communicate clearly, and work the problem until it is resolved
- You can explain a complex timing concept to a junior engineer and then turn around and discuss architectural tradeoffs with a design manager without switching gears
- You are comfortable saying "I need to check with R&D on that" instead of guessing, and you follow up when you said you would
- You can manage multiple customer engagements at once without dropping threads or losing track of what you promised to whom
- You take ownership of problems even when they cross team boundaries, and you do not wait for someone else to connect the dots
