Performance QA Engineer

What you’ll own
- Own the architecture and technical roadmap of our shared performance testing platform, ensuring scalability, stability and reliability across multiple business teams and POS branches.
- Design, build and maintain reusable performance testing frameworks and components using Gatling/Locust, Scala/Python, Docker and AWS , including simulations, test utilities, cloud modules and reporting solutions.
- Design and execute performance testing strategies for high-load, distributed and cloud-hosted systems, including iOS and Android applications , validating volume, throughput, availability and key mobile performance metrics.
- Build and enhance CI/CD and test orchestration pipelines using Jenkins, Groovy and related technologies, while continuously improving test data setup, environment provisioning and results analysis.
- Provide technical guidance to Automation Engineers, establish framework standards and best practices, troubleshoot complex performance issues and drive root-cause analysis and remediation.
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of software engineering experience , ideally with hands-on experience in performance or load testing.
- Strong programming experience in Python , combined with experience in Scala or the ability to quickly work across both languages.
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs and distributed cloud-hosted systems , with practical experience using AWS or another major cloud platform and Docker .
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines , such as Jenkins or TeamCity, including exposure to Groovy pipeline scripting .
- Experience designing and executing performance test strategies for iOS and Android applications , with a solid understanding of key mobile performance metrics.
It’s a bonus if you have
- Experience building or maintaining a shared testing framework or engineering platform used by multiple teams , particularly with tools such as Gatling or Locust .
- Experience with observability and analytics tools such as Kibana or Grafana , including analysis across load, stress, spike, soak and endurance testing.
- Experience working with POS, retail or enterprise-scale distributed systems , along with experience mentoring or providing technical leadership to other engineers.
