About the role:
Are you interested in leading technical integration across major nuclear I&C projects? We are looking for an accomplished systems engineer who can establish system-level direction, align multiple organizations, resolve cross-system issues, and develop the next generation of technical leaders.
As a Lead I&C Systems Engineer, you will provide project-level technical leadership for systems engineering and integration across major nuclear I&C projects.
You will maintain a system-level technical basis across project requirements, functional and physical architecture, interfaces, configuration, engineering changes, verification, and subsystem development. You will work across organizational boundaries to resolve issues that cannot be addressed within an individual subsystem or discipline.
You will be a senior technical integration authority for assigned project scope and help develop systems engineering capability throughout the organization.
You will report to the Manager, GIC Systems Engineering and work from Czech Republic.
This position will transition to a permanent work location in the Brno metropolitan area as the project progresses.
Model of work: hybrid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide project-level technical leadership for integrated I&C systems engineering activities.
- Lead development of project systems engineering and integration strategies.
- Establish system-level technical direction for requirements, architecture, interfaces, configuration, and verification.
- Maintain technical agreement among I&C platforms, subsystems, plant interfaces, customer requirements, and project commitments.
- Provide proactive systems engineering oversight of subsystem development.
- Identify and lead resolution of cross-system and cross-organizational conflicts.
- Establish and lead system-level architecture, interface, design, and integration reviews.
- Coordinate technical activities among project management, customers, engineering organizations, architect-engineers, suppliers, and other partners.
- Ensure technical decisions are documented, traceable, and incorporated into affected engineering baselines.
- Oversee requirements decomposition, allocation, validation, traceability, and interface control.
- Establish technical expectations for system-level verification and validation.
- Lead evaluation of engineering changes having cross-system impacts.
- Support resolution of integration issues between product and project organizations.
- Provide technical direction for systems engineering plans, estimates, schedules, bids, proposals, and execution strategies.
- Be a senior technical interface with customers and other external partners.
- Mentor Senior and Principal Systems Engineers.
- Develop systems engineering and technical-leadership capability across the organization.
- Lead continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, methods, tools, and practices.
- Represent systems engineering in project-level technical decisions.
- Support resolution of emergent customer, project, licensing, quality, or regulatory issues.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems, Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical, or another engineering discipline.
- 12+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with complex diverse systems.
- Demonstrated technical leadership of diverse engineering activities.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more systems engineering or I&C disciplines.
- Knowledge of system integration, requirements, architecture, interfaces, configuration management, and verification and validation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead resolution of complex issues involving multiple systems, disciplines, or organizations.
- Experience providing technical direction to experienced engineers.
- Demonstrated mentoring and technical capability-development experience.
- Ability to translate technical strategies into executable engineering scope.
Meritorious qualifications
- Nuclear power industry experience.
- Leadership experience on major digital I&C modernization or new-plant programs.
- Experience serving as Systems Engineering Lead, Integration Lead, I&C Systems Engineering Lead, or a comparable technical authority.
- Requirements-management and configuration-management experience.
- Experience establishing system architecture and interface-control strategies.
- Experience establishing and leading verification and validation strategies.
- Experience working with utilities, customers, architect-engineers, suppliers, or regulatory organizations.
- Technical-leadership development or equivalent experience developing engineers and engineering organizations.
