About this role

Every time a Bluetooth device pairs instantly, streams audio without a glitch, or reconnects the moment you walk into the room, a lot of engineering went into making it feel effortless. You will join a dynamic team responsible for qualifying Bluetooth and wireless connectivity on the latest company products. You will test the complete system, from software to firmware to radio, dig deep to understand and validate issues, and write the code that drives our testing. Your work will have a direct influence on product quality and user experience all over the world.

We are looking for a proactive, assertive team member who takes initiative, drives activities forward, and inspires and leads others toward shared quality goals.

Test Bluetooth (Classic and LE) features and connectivity end to end, from the application layer through the firmware, on real devices and in real-world scenarios.
Run manual and automated tests, analyze the results, and report quality status and risks.
Investigate failures and performance degradation using logs, protocol traces, and sniffer captures. Raise well-isolated, validated bugs with clear reproduction steps and supporting data.
Read and trace code in the test environment, host software, and firmware to isolate issues, and support developers with the information they need to fix them.
Improve and enhance test flows, tools, and scripts to make testing faster, more reliable, and broader in coverage. You may also take on tasks to improve the testing infrastructure, such as lab setups, test frameworks, and CI and reporting pipelines.
Learn and deeply understand new Bluetooth and wireless protocols and features, and use that knowledge to define what to test and to tell expected behavior from real bugs.
Take initiative: identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities on your own, and launch and drive activities from idea to completion without waiting to be asked.
Lead and influence others: align and motivate teammates and cross-functional teams, and drive issues to resolution with clear ownership and follow-through.
This is a fixed-term position, with the possibility of extension.

Minimum Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience in software development, system testing, or firmware testing, with strong hands-on coding in Python (or another scripting language).
A software engineer’s approach to code: clean, modular, maintainable design, version control (Git), code reviews, and ownership of what you build.
Ability to read and debug code in other languages, such as C/C++, and experience with debugging tools.
Experience with data communication or wireless protocols.
Good understanding of Linux, macOS, or other Unix-based operating systems.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to quickly learn new protocols and technologies in depth from specifications.
Creative, persistent problem-solving. You keep going until you know why.
Clear communication and the ability to work with multiple teams.
Assertive, self-motivated personality with a proven ability to take initiative, drive others, and lead activities and projects without formal authority.
Confidence to raise concerns, challenge assumptions, and advocate for product quality, while remaining collaborative and respectful.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Bluetooth protocols and profiles (HCI, A2DP, HFP, GATT, etc.).
Experience with sniffers and protocol analysis.
Experience building automation frameworks or CI pipelines.
Familiarity with audio and voice quality measurement techniques.
Understanding of embedded systems.
