Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a Controller for our non-profit client to oversee financial reporting and day-to-day accounting operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the month-end close and overseeing AP, AR, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and inventory accounting.
Responsibilities
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close.
- Oversee AP, AR, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and inventory.
- Support budgeting and forecasting.
- Perform budget-to-actual and variance analysis.
- Manage cash and monitor cash flow.
- Provide schedules and financial information for external audits.
- Maintain appropriate accounting controls and processes.
- Supervise and develop accounting staff.
Requirements
- Active CPA required.
- Nonprofit industry accounting experience required.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
- Previous Controller or comparable accounting leadership experience.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and audit support.
- Strong month-end close and operational accounting experience.
