The Opportunity

As Manager - Grains, you'll be at the forefront of analysing global grain markets, helping clients navigate an ever-changing agricultural landscape. Reporting to the Senior Manager - Grains & Oilseeds, you'll combine hands-on market analysis with team leadership, driving high-quality research across key grain markets including wheat, barley, and corn.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing deep analytical work with mentoring others, engaging directly with clients, and influencing the evolution of market intelligence products used by industry leaders around the world.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead Market Analysis

- Monitor and forecast global grain production, supply, and demand trends.

- Analyse key market drivers including weather, crop competitiveness, production costs, policy changes, and economic developments.

- Track international trade flows, stock levels, consumption patterns, and pricing dynamics across major grain markets.

- Build, maintain, and enhance global grain balance sheets and forecasting models.

- Deliver timely market outlooks, intelligence reports, and actionable insights to internal and external stakeholders.

Drive Thought Leadership

- Represent Expana as a recognised grain market expert.

- Lead client discussions, presentations, webinars, and training sessions.

- Attend industry conferences and engage with key market participants.

- Contribute expert insight that strengthens Expana's reputation and market presence.

Inspire and Develop Others

- Mentor, coach, and support a team of analysts, helping them grow their expertise and careers.

- Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- Challenge existing methodologies and identify opportunities to improve analysis, processes, and product quality.

- Promote innovation and analytical excellence across the team.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

- 5-10 years of experience analysing commodity or agricultural markets.

- Strong understanding of global grain markets and their key supply and demand drivers.

- Proven ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into clear commercial insights.

- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and presentation skills with the confidence to engage clients and senior stakeholders.

- Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

- Fluent English language skills.- both written and verbal

- Previous people management or team leadership experience.

- Additional language skills. - French ideally

- Experience presenting market insights to clients or industry audiences.
